Calvin is a consulting economist with over 25 years of experience in telecommunications, public utility regulation, and competition policy questions. He has advised the regulatory entities of many national governments, private sector clients in countries around the world, as well as for state and local governments in the US.
Previously Calvin was Vice President of Regulatory and Government Affairs for BellSouth International. Under his leadership, regulatory capacity became a competitive advantage for BellSouth International’s Latin American operations, contributing significantly to the sustainability of earnings and to BellSouth’s long-term success, in which BellSouth more than doubled the value of its Latin American properties over a three-year period. Calvin is also a former utilities regulator, having worked at the Illinois Commerce Commission as Director of Telecommunications Policy.
Calvin received his PhD in Economics from Washington University, and received an MA in Economics from the University of Chicago.
